Short Story: workshop, mystery quilt, no pattern, verbal instructions, strips, sew a block, cut, re-sew, cut, re-sew.
I could tell I was not going to be able to achieve a standard with which I would be happy to make enough blocks for a quilt...
So I now have a table runner on which I can practice my free-motion quilting...
If you kind of blur your eyes it doesn't look so bad...

Terrific. Your points are perfect. Small projects are great to practice quilting.
I love it your desktop runner !
Knowing somewhat more about the cut would be very good and the sewing from procession .
If nonsecret .

I think it looks great! Remember we are our own worst critics. It will only bother you and no one else. Can't wait to see how you quilt it!

No pictures? Just instructions? I think you did a marvelous job! I LOVE the colours. The final picture is awesome. It's kind of an optical illusion quilt. I really like it a lot!

It's hard when we're not happy with our projects and the 'obvious' always stands out... and it is usually only we who notice.
