Flying Geese

My flying geese didn't quite turn out as I anticipated.
(Don't quilt on a dark, winter's night.)

A little lateral thinking and I ended up with this block.
I like it. It definitely has possibilities.
This block uses a partial seam construction.
9 inch finished.

In the end I managed to finish this block with
the correct flying geese.

That's three done.

That Ironing Board!

For some time now my little ironing board has needed a new cover.
I like the metallic surface instead of cotton so I picked up a new
cover at Target. I used my old cover as a template to cut the new
felt and fabric cover. I bound it with store-bought bias binding and re-used
the string to cinch it closed. Started and finished on the same day.
Must be some kind of record for me.
(Never mind that I've had the new cover sitting here since last year!)

Quilt Size Reference Chart

I can across this handy chart while cruising Pinterest.
You can download your copy here.

Way too much cool stuff out there.
Happy cruising!

One Block at a Time

I'm using some scraps to make a charity quilt.
I used this method for the flying geese units
(with 'bonus' HST).

This block is commonly known as "Sawtooth Star".
Finishes at 12 inches.

I love these bright colours.
