At the Retreat recently I was able to continue work on a project I started at the last retreat held in April. I blogged about it here. Working with so many different fibres and weights was difficult and I finally decided to stabilise the fabrics with lightweight interfacing. Overall I am happy with the results, although as I had already cut all my pieces, I had to cut the interfacing the same and then iron it to the back of each piece, except the four patches were already sewn together so they have just one piece. It was like cutting the quilt out all over again.
The blocks are laid out to continue the piecing...
The interfacing...

This is coming together nicely, but taking too long... no more swaps! (sigh) I need to be independently wealthy so I can totally indulge myself in my sewing... maybe one day...

Cheers
Shari

Your quilt is going to look real nice, so you are going to do it like the last one.....wonderful!!! One day I just might get brave and do it that way.

Tedious but wonderful. I'm really loving fabrics in quilts other than all cottons now.

This is going to be wonderful. But yes, cutting all that interfacing had to be tedious!
If I ever win the lottery, I'll share with you. Of course, I have to play it first. *G*

How gorgeous - please keep swapping and PLEASE remind me about interfacing - maybe I will run to 'My Studio' now and put it out to post!

I so agree. I need to be independently wealthy too. Living life making money and everything takes too much time away from what I want to do.

Ugh having to cut everything twice. I'm so sorry. It is looking great though.

Great, catching up with you again. Love the quilt you made for Italy. You will have made a child very happy. The quilt you are now working on looks very very pretty. I love the patterns you used and the fabrics. Look forward to see the finish!

I love the "spiders" you made (but don't like real ones.)
Is that bottlebrush tree in your header? I like it.

In my blog (http://jesswe2.blogspot.com) I'm asking for some sharing from English speaking bloggers concerning the use of the word jack in their countries. Would Australia like to weigh in? Read my blog, "A Challenge."
