Geraldine's Quilt

In January we visited dear friends who now live in Dumbleyung.
She had this lovely quilt made for her by her sister-in-law
and her sister-in-law's daughter who live in South Africa.
Enjoy.

Misc

When not blogging, life goes on.
I have been working a lot of extra hours in the last few months
and have not had any mental fortitude to blog.

I have not been vacuuming the ceiling in the powder room.

I have assisted with changing the spark plug leads in my car.

I have been on a team that is drafting our
publicity brochure for the guild.

I did not make a birthday cake.
I bought a pink dinosaur birthday donut.

My baby is 20. I am no longer the mother of a teenager.

Work is settling down with new owners and new staff.
I'm hoping to get back in to a regular blogging routine.

Quilting Gallery Mug Rug Swap

So I had a little time and made a good start on my Mug Rugs
for the Quilting Gallery Mug Rug Swap.
I opted for a Christmas theme for the winter tree house quiltlet.
I will be blanket stitching the edges.

Here are the scraps I've selected for the Owls.
It will be bright and cheerful for Spring and Summer.

Go here to see what others are doing.

Purple HST

These are my purple HST sent off to be swapped.
Once again I had to work so could not join my lovely girlfriends.
I will receive my HST in a couple of weeks when I can
snatch a few moments from work by swapping shifts.
Hopefully we will get a new girl hired soon and trained.
I really miss my Tuesdays off and being able to catch up with friends.
Still, I have a job so am trying not to complain too loudly.
One thing is for sure, these lovely fabrics perk me up!

While working on my purple HST's, one of my friends was trying to
think of how she was going to quilt a triangle quilt for her daughter.
I suggested making a small quilt to practice on.
To that end I cut some triangles from my left-over charms squares used
for the HST swap and played around with them. I put together a
small quilt sandwich and gave it to her - without another photo
as I now realise. Anyway, I will catch up with her one evening soon
so will try to grab a photo of how she goes.

Hope all is well in your world. Thanks for stopping by.
