QW11 No. 4

The first two quilts are from the AQC challenge "The Seven Deadly Sins". I thought they were quite clever in their design. The cake one is my favourite this year...

Fun quilts from the exhibition...

These are some very fine examples of what our contemporary quilt group is up to...

Yes, those are real metal bits sewn on top of the quilt...

QW11 No.2

These are several of the Association's anniversary quilts.

This is the 30th anniversary quilt. My name appears on one of the leaves.

This year is the 35th anniversary. We don't know yet what the quilt will be... details to follow soon...

QW11 No. 1

Without flash.

With flash.

Look at the quilted birds in the 'sashing'

A really beautiful quilt

I can't put my hands on my catalogue at the moment, so my apologies to the wonderful makers of this quilt. I believe it was either a two-person quilt or a group effort.

QuiltWest 2011 Begins

The quilts are all in. What's next.

Processing. Judging. Photos.

Here I am receiving (or giving) instruction (I'm the blue stripe).

Heads down, bums up. Everybody gets to work.

The quilts are all safely tucked away ready for transport to the exhibition centre. They will stay wrapped until they are hung on Tuesday.

Our fearless leader has certainly earned herself a drink (of water).

Of course I have other photos, but they show people or quilts that I don't think I can show until after the exhibition opens.

We are quite careful about these things, you know.

PS - If you are really good and work hard you just might get pie. This is the best apple pie I've had in over 25 years. Delightfully light and flaky, melt in your mouth pastry... perfectly seasoned apples with lovely spices...

If you compliment the cook, you just might get to take the leftovers home...

worked for me...
