Hari-Kuyo

February 8 is the day of Hari-Kuyo, the Festival of Broken Needles, which is held in Japan. It is a memorial service for broken needles to thank them for their service. You can read about it here and here.
.
Quilters know that the right needle makes all the difference. I don't have a favourite yet. Still experimenting. What is your favourite needle?

Wow, never heard of it! What a neat idea, I have marked it on my calendar. I am machine quilting a heavy flannel quilt, and have managed to break three needles myself this week. Thanks for sharing this. - Mary in snowy Minnesota, USA
