Most quilters discard their selvages, but some make very interesting items from them. If you want to try this yourself, you can get a headstart on a selvage collection by entering the giveaway from Moda Lissa. There will be 3 lucky winners. Pop over and enter if this is something you would like to win.

your bushfire quilt squares (stars) are so lovely and colorful! the selvedge balls are a cool idea - i should have been saving those colorful selvedge scraps all these years, then i could give them AWAY!! thanks for visiting my site!

Hey Shari! I just saw a chair slip cover made entirely out of selvages - it's beautiful but so much work.
Hope all's well :)

I just saw that ball at her blog. Pretty darn amazing! I need to start that. It is such a smart way to keep them. I like to cut my selveges off wider though and leave a hint of fabric.

I love the ball but I'm being strong not collecting selvages. I daren't go there! I'll just admire what others do with them.
