Happy Birthday to Me

Happy Birthday to me...

I'm off to Albany...

So while I'm awa-ay...

I'll have a giveaway...

This is me at Sweet 16 within a few days of meeting my husband. This is his Sandman. Did every parent of a teenage daughter just have a heart attack? He was a perfect gentleman, almost. lol

My birthday is on Wednesday, 7 January and as I am away from the 3rd to the 10th I'll be off-line for the whole week. Not sure if we'll be able to get any access (or even want to) so I decided to have a quiet little giveaway.

To enter just leave a comment on this post sometime from the 3rd of January to 6:00pm the 10th of January (my time). To be eligible you must tell me a memorable birthday moment, i.e. a special gift, an event, a disaster, a cake, you forgot your own birthday (hey - that's happened to me!) The winner will receive this book, Victory Quilts by Eleanor Burns. If I find something cool on my trip I might throw that in as well. Who knows?

I took the photo of this book in Mr Fixit's workshop. The light was great. He has a round Ott-Lite with a magnifying glass in the middle which is also great for taking splinters out of little feet...

I'll be thinking of you all and hope you all have a boring week with lots of time for sewing and laughing! And please go and say Happy Birthday to Terri over at Purple and Paisley. She and I were born on the exact same day, but we're not saying how old we are...

Cheers!

Shari

Happy happy birthday to you, dear Shari! My most memorable birthday moment will definitely be this year, when I wil turn 5 x 10. I can hardly believe it. It sounds old but I do not feel that way at all. And luckily people tell me I don't look that old. That runs in the family.
I hope you had a wonderful time with your dear husband and that we get to see some pictures of your trip.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHARI!!

My most memorable was my sweet 16! It was my first party where there would be boys too and I was so nervous that I got a bad nose bleed 15 min before everyone arrived! It all went well though after that!!

Hope you have a fun vacation!

Happy Birthday!! My most memorable birthday was my 7th. We were having an outdoor party and playing what we here in the states call "freeze tag". I ran into a friend and cut my eyelid and everyone had to go home. I still bear the scar of that day!!

Happy Birthday, you still look like you are 16. the Birthday I remember the most was when I turned 5, I got a little blue car that you used you feet to make it go. I used it a lot in our basement and would drive around the ping pong table at 100 miles an hour. Have a safe and fun trip.

Happy Birthday and hope you enjoy your vacation.
A memorable birhday...two years ago my dad had passed away and was buried the day before my birthday and my mom had passed away 6 months before. My cousin, Kathy who I rarely see or talk to got me a birhtday cake. She knewy my mom wouldn't be there to bake me a cale. She picked just the kind of cake she remembered my mom bakeing...angel food with the little sprinkles. How very thoughtful Kathy was.

Happy Birthday...hope you return home safe (it is all about me now, you have to get home safe to send me the book...heeheee)...
Okay, my favorite B-day was when I went out on a blind date and we went go cart racing and I won....I just turned 21 and wanted something fun to happen and it did....had a great time and my best friend went with me on a double at that time..I don't think we were too interested in our dates but we sure had a blast laughing up a storm...

Happy Birthday Shari! Hope you and your hubby have a great trip. I've enjoyed reading everyone's birthday stories. My most merorable was the year I went to Brownie overnight camp for the weekend. I don't like meat and didn't want eggs for breakfast so I told everyone I was a strict vegetarian. Imagine my suprise when the leader brought out a vegan birthday cake! It was awful and I had to choke down a piece. I was about 8 years old. Since then I've always had yummy, icing covered creations to make up for it!
